Banksy’s pre-Oscar media junket continues, care of a piece spotted in a Westwood alley today. Ironically enough Lauren Conrad (from the Hills) scooped it via Twitter, according to LAist. My question is, if a reality show star is scooping you via Tweets, is that a sign that you’ve Jumped the Shark? Rumor has it the alley in question was an Urban Outfitters, a store that ironically carried Banksy’s book “Wall and Piece”–a marketing move, one may posit, that solidfies your fate in shark jumpdom (and yes, I realize that the phrase “Jump the Shark” has jumped said shark too).
And another thing, what is Lauren Conrad doing in a back alley behind Urban Outfitters in Westwood? Because the answers to these questions are not readily available via Google or Perez Hilton, I have to opine that this is yet another staged ploy to keep the fourth estate busy. At any rate, Banksy’s latest move is a nice reminder that Academy members have exactly one week to cast their votes before the big show on the 27th. You’ve gotta love social media!
