Having a day-long, city-wide celebration of cross cultural music is probably the best way I can think of to usher in the summer! MMLA is part of an international festival originating in France called Fete de la Musique (World Music Day). The event is celebrated on the same day by over 110 countries.
Throughout Los Angeles and beyond, various artists will be performing free concerts and if you are a musician some of the locations will allow you to showcase your talents.
One of my favorites is the “Play Me I’m Yours Piano” which will back for the public to play and enjoy at the Downtown Central Library tomorrow. I know where I’ll be spending my lunch hour!
A dose of culture that’s easy on the wallet? Let’s make some music Los Angeles!
