Thought I’d share what I listened to Tuesday night. One day I will dedicate a post or two about the legendary Blue Note Records and the beautiful Photography of Francis Wolff and incredible Graphic Design of Reid Miles. One of my most cherished art books is a collection of over 400 Blue Note Album covers designed by the duo. I literally get lost in these covers. The above cover shot by Wolff in 1961 is a perfect example: from the cool shades, cigarettes, and shadow, to Mobley’s contemplative look and the sax taking a much-needed rest in the chair, the covers are begging for their story to be told; the music behind the cover tells that story.
Hope you enjoy this Wednesday “Workout”.
