Happy 4th of July!

I’ve got a serious case of vacation-itis which means I have beaches on the brain.  I figured I’d find an artistic angle to this wanderlust, and thanks to Saatchi Online, I’ve found some incredible works of art that whisk me away to warm sandy beaches (minus the sunburns, sandflies and jellyfish). Plus no oceanic daydream would be complete without the perfect outfit!  So I’m currently dreaming of beaches that I’d am happy to share.  The one constant in the next 5 posts will be my favorite Wayfarer shades, which I’ve managed to hang onto for a year without losing them.  These shades are so timeless and versatile they make a stylish fit into any beach-time scenario.

First up on my list is one beach that was practically in my backyard for 5 years. Venice Beach is a perfect L.A. locale for people watching, shopping, walking and roller skating (yes, roller skating) 🙂  So many worlds collide here in a perfect storm of crazy chaos.  It’s no beach for relaxing, but it is certainly a site you’ll not soon forget.

Paddle boarding is such a mellow, serene activity that perfectly fits into the chill vibe of our Southern California beaches, so I had to include one in my So Cal dream beach get up!
