“You’re the one thing that always remains, Music.“
What’s a Rube Goldberg Machine? MusicRemains.org taught me something!
I honestly didn’t know what a Rube Goldberg Machine was until today. I just thought of them as intricately engineered chain reaction mazes, and I loved them when I was a little kid, especially the ones with dominoes. This cute 90 second history of music brought back many memories and made me think about how influential music is in our lives.
Completely random tangent: While researching old Rube Goldberg Machine videos I went down a Sesame Street rat hole. There were 2 versions of the “1-2-3” clip (aka “Number Three Film”), one with the ball turning into 3 cherries topping 3 sundaes, and the original which was very, very different
The ball was ground to dust.
The cherry sundae ending was created after complaints came about the original version being too traumatic. What? I think non-edible balls turning into cherries is more disturbing (choking hazard?!) than attributing life to an inanimate object.
So, I liked the original one, does that make me a sadist? Hmm…#deepthoughts
