You know those cute animal videos you find on Youtube that feature unlikely friendships? You know, like a kitten and a fawn cuddling, or a baby duck waddling behind a mini-horse or a parrot wrestling a pit bull? Seeing comedian Jerry Seinfeld chop it up with hip hop artist Wale in a diner was kind of like that, and Complex Magazine captured every bit of their odd bonding session beautifully. The magazine staged a viral worthy segment featuring the two artists bemoaning Wale’s absence on Complex’s top album list. Their encounter morphs into a brilliant series of segments that resemble a mash-up of everything we love about Seinfeld and Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
I normally don’t like forced viral videos, but this one is brilliant.
These two wax poetically on new shoes, Twitter trolls, therapy, terraces and the peculiar duality of being a foodie/strip club enthusiast. My favorite bit is the one about the burden of “celebrity”. It’s classic Jerry.
I need a Seinfeld video like this in my life every week. Well played Complex. Well played.
Every Monday should start off with this!
Jerry seems more comfortable than Wale, but I guess that’s to be expected.
