It’s not all about art reviews over here, and today I decided to share some music with you all. I simply cannot overstate how important music is in my life, and for that I am forever grateful to my dad for bringing me up around an eclectic array of musical artists. For those of you on Spotify, I made a Father’s Day playlist to celebrate him.
Backstory: Last month my dad and I took the 30 Day Music Challenge, where you post a song based on a different theme every day. If you follow me on Instagram you got to see/hear many of my selections, but I also decided to ask my dad to take the challenge with me. I have a very good sense of the music he loves, having grown up on his extensive collection of vinyl and watching his musical tastes evolve over the decades. Yet somehow he managed to surprise me! It was a fun little experiment that offered a special glimpse into his life through the music he loves. I also heard some new, incredible stories about important moments in his life that were shaped through these songs.
During this challenge our musical paths crossed once with The Brothers Johnson’s Strawberry Letter 23 and we ended up choosing many of the same artists. My love for music comes from him and I believe with all my heart that music heals and unites us in very meaningful ways. I dedicate this playlist to him and thought I’d share with you all.

I am currently doing the music challenge now and its fun because I love music as well
